When 33-year old Rea Tapang lost her hair as a side effect of her breast cancer treatment, she was truly distressed.
"Hair is like my crowning glory, so I didn't know who I was when I didn't have it," says Rea, who underwent a double mastectomy and many chemotherapy treatments.
But thanks to your gift to fund our Wig Program, Rea found herself a free wig - and a giant boost of confidence.
"Receiving a wig from the Canadian Cancer Society allowed me to feel like myself again. It changed how I felt about my cancer," says Rea.
Losing her hair is just one of the many challenges that women face on their breast cancer journeys. Your gift helps Canadian women in need obtain a wig - and a chance to regain their sense of self.
"Thanks to your generosity, I was able to get the support I needed," says Rea.
Thank you for helping people like Rea gain self-confidence and build resilience after her treatment.
